About Me

 Loc'd For 30 Months

Hi, I'm Deborah. I'm a self-taught stylist who has been doing hair for over 15 years. From my humble beginnings as a hair braider during high school, I have installed, retouched and styled the precious "locs" of several individuals over the last decade. I specialize in Micro Braid Locs. In the gallery, you'll find samples of my work.

I discovered locs about ten years ago. At the time, I had no clue what to expect. I went into a nearby salon and paid (a lot of!) money to have my hair sectioned off into regular sized locs. When I got home, I realized the top of my hair was uneven in comparison to the rest, so I took them out and resized them. Needless to say, I never went back to the salon, but instead maintained my locs for the next five years with major success.

After having my youngest, I decided I wanted to go smaller with my locs. I knew I'd never wear my hair any way else (once you discover the beauty of locs you won't want to either!) so I took them out and resized them again. This time, I went micro. I considered getting Sisterlocks but on a single mom's budget, it wasn't happening.

So I opted for braid locs. I'd heard of them, but never tried them. Never even seen them up close. In fact, many people warned against them. Said they didn't like the look. But after all my Sisterlocks and Interlocks research, I decided I'd give it a try.

Three years later, my daughter and I have beautiful, versatile, Micro Braid Locs that are easy to maintain, a breeze in the morning and the best hair style either of us have ever had.

I could just advertise on Kijiji or Craigslist, but I don't think I'll convince you to take the plunge unless you see the results for yourself. I want to help you find your natural style. A style you'll fall in love with and never regret. So I created this website to give you a better idea of what you can expect from the Braid Loc journey from installation to full maturity. It takes patience, but it's worth it.

So look around and once you're ready to learn more, give me a call!

  1. Hello Deborah, my name is Jennifer. I have tried to loc twice before with upsetting results, but with a lot of research I have discovered micro braid locs and have fallen in love! I am getting my micro braid locs installed very soon by a friend. I am nervous, excited, and scared all at the same time. I believe this is the method for me. The only thing I am afraid of is that a micro loc will snap off from the weight as it grows. Other than that I was ready yesterday lol! I love the pictures on here and it inspires me even more. Peace and Blessings!
